Just like human beings, buildings need to breathe. In Alberta, with our cold winters, we tend to focus on keeping air out of our buildings (and heat in), but all buildings need to exchange air regularly. This is known as ventilation, and it is critical for keeping the air we breathe in buildings healthy and safe, especially when there are things like manufacturing processes, painting, or welding going on in a building.
What is Ventilation, Anyway?
Wikipedia explains, “Ventilation is the intentional introduction of outdoor air into a space and is mainly used to control indoor air quality by diluting and displacing indoor pollutants; it can also be used for purposes of thermal comfort or dehumidification.”

Ventilation Certification for New Business/Location
When a business moves into a new location or a new business opens in an existing location, the City of Lethbridge will require a Confirmation of Ventilation Certificate as part of their business licensing process. This is done to make sure that the ventilation systems are adequate to meet the needs of people occupying the building while the company conducts its business.
4 Seasons Will Figure Out Your Ventilation Needs
This is where 4 Seasons Home Comfort comes in. We will examine the ventilation systems currently in place in the business location, what the new business will be doing and what its ventilation requirements will be. We will then determine if the ventilation system meets or exceeds existing building codes.
We will make the appropriate calculations, and supply a Ventilation Certification for the business license if the ventilation meets the needs of the business, or work with your business to get the ventilation system up to code if necessary.
Clean Air = Good Air
Workplace safety is very much a Good Thing, and that includes keeping the air in your workplace clean and safe. 4 Seasons will help you with this and get you on your way to meeting your ventilation requirements for your new business license.
